FXP Festival

Welcome to FXP Festival – a Cambridgeshire-based education initiative centred on the exciting world of game design and development, which aims to help young people (aged 12-19) to develop a range of capabilities and skills – from teamwork and communication, to coding, design, creative writing and storytelling.

For 2023, we are pleased to share that FXP Festival will take place as a standalone virtual programme as well as an in-person event, to increase accessibility for young people across the county. Both are completely free to take part in. The virtual programme will take place over 14 weeks, launching on 6 March 2023. The live event will take place on 8 & 9 July 2023. Both will have their own theme so teams can take part in either, or both.

About FXP Festival

FXP Festival was created in 2016 as a STEM initiative based on a computer and mobile game design and development competition. In 2020, FXP Festival officially became a registered UK charity.

Completely free to attend, each year FXP Festival has attracted teams with a wide range of interests and abilities – from those experienced in coding, to those more interested in the creative concept and artistry of game design or narrative and storytelling.
